As a diabetic educator and Psychologist, Asma Quereshi holds the Diabetes Q&A Sessions on Materia Medica in Diabetes on every Tuesday.
Asma Qureshi is working with Willing Ways as a Clinical Psychologist. She has done Masters in Applied Psychology from the University of Punjab in 2006.After this, she did six months internship at Psychiatry ward of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore. She did her Post Magisterial Diploma in Clinical Psychology (PMDCP) from the Institute of Clinical psychology, University of Karachi in 2009.
At Willing Ways, she conducts family counseling sessions, individual sessions of the outdoor and indoor patients, and classes and group sessions of the patients.
With the families of indoor patients, she works according to the programs of Disease Concept, Successful Intervention, Tough Love, No More Letting Go, Assertiveness, Emotional Intelligence and Crucial Conversations. She conducts classes based on the book “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Life Strategies and Mindfullness” to indoor patients.
Asma’s particular interest is Schizophrenia. She conducts sessions with patients and their families suffering with this disorder. She uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Brain Games and social rehabilitation skills to make the treatment more effective. In case of families, she works on Disease concept, Grief Recovery and Emotional Intelligence.
She has also worked with the teenagers from the Child Protection and welfare Beuro on the program of Seven Habits of Highly effective teens.
In addition to the professional growth, Asma is also into activities such as acting, script writing, comparing and mimicry.
